Food and Shelter Inc. provide many incredible services to the Oklahoma City area. As the name implies, they focus on providing the essentials of food and shelter.
Breakfast and lunch is provided to anyone who is hungry. Seven days per week, hundreds of people join them for meals. Breakfast is served at 8:30 am and lunch is served at 11 am.
When supplies allow, food boxes are distributed to families who are unable to afford groceries. Please stop by after 1pm for a food box referral or assistance.
Emergency shelter options are available. Contact a case manager during business hours (or just stop by) to discuss your options.
A 13-unit long-term supportive housing unit allows families to stay for up to two years. There is no cost to residents. Rent is paid by participating in case management and improving as a family. Stop by to complete an application for this program.
Families who are on the brink of homelessness or who have recently been homeless may be able to receive one-time rent or utility assistance when funding is available.
Many men, women and children are living on the streets, in cars or in campsites. The day shelter provides bathrooms, showers, laundry facilities, television, books, music, mail service, and games for those who need it. Case management is also available to help you get off the streets and into better housing.
On Tuesdays, guests can visit the Free Store and receive personal care items, toilet paper, diapers, blankets, pillows, coats, pet food and more. The items vary by week depending on donations.
The day shelter is open between 8am and 5pm daily. It is open even longer during extreme weather months.
